note Text field Is editing I wasn't sure, whether to put this here or under cram session.
right now, I am currently taking the transitioning to you EB class through Hadley. my used
Perkins Brailer has crapped the bed as it were. in the instructional information for my
class I was told I could use a program such as duxbury or perky duck in order to do my
assignments because it has six dot entry. I no longer have a working braille note taker,
but the computers in the house that we have either have Lenix, or OS. as far as I know
both of these programs only work with windows. my Hadley instructor has no idea of any
programs for other OS options. I wondered if you guys might have any suggestions for
me. I have one month to get my Brailer repaired and have my next assignment in, or I
have to turn in my book. thank you for any ideas or suggestions! also, I am extremely
slow at the slate and stylus, and do not currently own one so if you suggest that I will cry.
LOL Word mode insertion point at end

You're correct, DBT exists for Mac. You'd have to purchase it of course. http://www.duxburysystems.com/

I have a friend who has tried the perky duck program, and found it to be absolutely useless unless you have a working braille display. JAWS,from what she said, does not read anything on the screen, so proofreading is ipossible with just a screen reader.
While I'm on the subject of Braille displays, can the BrailleNote be used as a stand-alone display while attached to a computer?
